Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Ghanshyam Bhatt, CHOGhanshyam Bhatt has been the Chairman and CEO of Newbury Hospitality Management since our inception in 2006. Mr. Bhatt immigrated to the United States of America in 1982, and began his career in the Hospitality Industry in Atlantic City, NJ.   In 1984, Mr. Bhatt purchased his first property in North Bergan, NJ, located minutes  New York City.  Over the course of the past 40 years, he has developed, acquired, and managed over 15 successful business ventures.   In 1999, Mr. Bhatt, and a group of childhood friends, decided to invest in their native City of Vadodara, Gujarat, India and develop and open the Taj Residency Vadodara.   In 2002, Mr. Bhatt was awarded Outstanding General Manager of year by the Connecticut Lodging Association.  In 2003, Mr. Bhatt was awarded the 2003 General Manager of the Year award by the American Lodging Association in Las Vegas, NV.   In 2006, Mr. Bhatt and his son Prashant became the first approved Franchisees for Hyatt Hotel Corporation’s New Select Service Brand Hotel “Hyatt Place”.   In 2007, the Bhatt’s completed  $13 million Construction on Hyatt Place Milford/New Haven CT.   Mr. Bhatt and his wife Anila are active members in the Milford Red Cross, Milford Chamber of Commerce, CT Lodging Association, American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), and Lifetime Members of Asian American Hotels Owners Association (AAHOA).  The Bhatt’s are also actively involved in community service and spiritual organizations including Yogi Divine Society, Gujarati Samaj of Connecticut, Brahmin Samaj of USA, and Association of Indian Americans in North America (AIANA).   Mr. Bhatt received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from M.S. University in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.

Prashant Bhatt, MBA
President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Prashant Bhatt is President and Chief Operating Officer of Newbury Hospitality Management.  Mr. Bhatt is involved in all areas of the business from Hotel Acquisitions, Operations/Management, and New Development.   In 2002, he began his career working for Hilton Hotels Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts for their DoubleTree Hotel.    Prior to the creation of Newbury Hospitality Management, Mr. Prashant Bhatt served  on the Management Team for Meyer Jabara Hotels and Interstate Hotels and Resorts.   Mr. Prashant Bhatt has extensive hotel experience with leading brands such as Marriott International, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.   In 2006,  Mr. Prashant Bhatt Co-Founded Newbury Hospitality Management and became the first approved Franchisee for Hyatt Place.   He has managed Construction & Development Projects for Hyatt Place Milford, CT, Hampton Inn Rocky Hill, CT,  Holiday Inn Express Rocky Hill, CT and Super 8 Hartford, CT.   He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Concentration in Finance/Marketing Degree from Northeastern University Boston, MA.   Mr. Prashant Bhatt also received his MBA in Hospitality & Tourism Global Business Leadership Degree from Johnson and Wales University Providence RI.     He has been invited as a guest speaker at Johnson & Wales University, and also recognized as an Outstanding Young Hotelier by Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA).   Mr. Prashant Bhatt is an Active Member of Asian American Hotels Owners Association (AAHOA), American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), Connecticut Lodging Association (CLA), New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Hartford Chamber of Commerce, CT Travel & Tourism Bureau, and Johnson & Wales University Alumni Association.   Mr. Prashant Bhatt is actively involved in community service and spiritual organizations such as Yogi Divine Society, Anoopam Mission, Gujarati Samaj of Connecticut, and Brahmin Samaj of USA.
